My band of adventurers heard that a food truck festival was in town. So, of course, we had to go see what it was all about. We parked among the others who were visiting this phenomenon and went to see what we could discover.
We first encountered a large pavilion with sellers showing their wares. There was a man who made dragons with roses on incorporated in the design. Then there was a woodworker who carved boxes from cedar, pine, and oak. We purchased a box from him. He decorated it with electric currents forming intricate patterns. A farmer gave us fresh milk, and a jeweler caught the eye of the halfling.
As we traveled further into the field, now swarming with people, a small train ran from one end of the field to the other. We walked, but the train looked interesting. As we walked, we encountered friends and family. They drifted in and out as we shopped. The halfling ran into several other halflings and performed a greeting ritual involving pointing and yelling, “I know you!” It must be a halfling thing because it left me baffled.
We walked through the vehicles and tents and found several that were interesting. The halfling eventually settled on a hot dog, while Tim bought us bison burgers. Random and Grayson found a place selling grilled cheese with lobster. We reunited with the others we meet and sat in a pavilion full of tables and benches to enjoy our food. After lunch, the halfling went to visit the animals. He pet a turtle and I made friends with a goat. THe halfling also found a new friend to bring home.
The name of his friend is still under discussion. I refer to him as Smiles. Tim calls him Toothless. The halfling has dubbed him Hug. Eventually, a decision will be made and no one will agree.
