A Harrowing Experience in the Dragon’s Cave

This week was full of adventure. They sent me with another adventurer to check a dragon’s cave. The cave was a long way from our base camp on the higher levels of the tower. We saved time by using the magical staircase and walkway to hurry across the long distance.

When we arrived, one of the dragon’s minions greeted us. He was friendly and showed us where the hoard we were looking for was. The dragon’s cave was enormous, with additional caves and recess carved out of the rock. The one we wanted was in the back of the cave. A pile of things the dragon had horded was large, but the size of the room made it feel almost empty.

We got to work sorting through the piles, looking for the items we were there to check on. I had to open the heavy boxes, and not finding what we needed, move them to another location. The dragon’s minion checked on us from time to time and used his magic to move some piles away from where we were working. This was helpful, as it allowed us to gain access to the piles in the far back of the cave. By the time we were done, sweat was running down my back and my partner was exhausted.

We left the cave and stopped to stay hello to someone at their base camp. We didn’t stay long as they were busy. On our trek back to our tower, I noticed my arm had gone numb. When we returned, I informed those at our base camp of the problem and went on another trek to find the healer.

The healer was unsure how to help me and sent me to a larger healing facility. This was frustrating, as these healers also could not determine the extent of my injuries. Their magic pictures revealed no bones broke, so they were at a loss. They recommend a different healer and gave me a sling for my arm.

Now I wait until the specialist can see me.
